What is House Music?

House Music is a form of high-energy dance music that is sexy, modern; has a message, and appeals to people of many ages and backgrounds. There are over a dozen unique styles of House Music, each perfect for a different type of party, person, or environment.

What is House Dance?

House Dance is an upright, improvisational form of ‘social dance’ performed to House Music. It borrows–but has distinct roots–from many different dance styles, including jazz, tap, Hip-Hop, capoeira, Salsa, and many more. Originating in the last half-century in U.S. cities like Chicago, Baltimore, San Francisco, and New York, House Dance has gained a global following in the last 15 years. The dance emphasizes fluid body movements that match the rhythm and tempo of the music, as well as complex footwork that closely follows the instrumentation of the song. House Dancing is freedom!

Who is Danny Dance?

Danny Dance is a House Dancer, House Music DJ, and Producer. He grew up in South Florida and lived in Salt Lake City for three years, where he discovered a thriving House Music culture that led him to pursue a professional career in it. To say that Danny loves House Music would be an understatement: in addition to DJing in nightclubs, festivals, parks, piano bars, and city centers, he teaches House Dance to adults, teens, and kids in studios, schools, and afterschool programs throughout the city.

Danny’s work ethic rivals his passion for the culture: in less than two years, he has taught House Dance to hundreds of Salt Lake City children; DJ’d over 60 live events; performed on live television; created popular Youtube dance videos with over 100,000 combined views; and released unofficial House Music remixes of artists as diverse as Keane, Alicia Keys, Kaskade, Aaliyah, Beenie Man, and more. A native of Miami, Danny was exposed to the wide variety of music and dance that comes with growing up in a city so diverse. His style of House Dance weaves in Salsa, Merengue, Hip-Hop, Capoeira, and other influences.
