Danny Dance Plans a House Dancer Search Tour With the Release of His New Mixtape
Salt Lake City, Oct. 25--Having secured a string of visible victories for the expansion of House Music in Salt Lake City, Danny Dance is on a mission to grow the scene from a new and important angle: the House Dancers. With the release of his full-length mixtape, Love For The House Dancer Volume 1, Danny Dance will begin to lay the groundwork for his vision: the emergence of several dozen new House Dancers by the end of the year.
A Love Affair with House Dancing
When Danny Dance first started dancing, it was mostly B-Boying (Breakdancing), which he explored in high school and early college. A huge fan of Hip Hop music at the time, he didn't anticipate he'd one day fall in love with a danceform called "House Dancing". Popular in Europe and large cities throughout the world, but still relatively unknown in the mainstream, House Dancing combines elements of several upright forms of dance into a style unique to each dancer. From ballet, jazz, and tap to the rhytmic footwork of B-Boying/B-Girling's Toprock and Uprock, and the slick steps of Salsa or hipwork of Merengue, all styles are fair game in House Dancing. In fact, that's the fun of it. Asked to describe House Dancing to a passersby at Danny Dance's Open House Nights outside the Salt Lake Downtown City Library, local House Dancer "Chacho" once plainly said, "House Dancing is freedom."
Now Danny wants to help spread that freedom throughout Salt Lake City and surrounding areas by pumping his new mixtape and House Dance lessons into the lifestream of the dance communities. By hitting dance studios, colleges, and high school campuses on a "House Dancer Search Tour" and distributing copies of the new mixtape to potential dancers, he hopes to energize a new generation of dance music lovers. With the popularity of House Music and House Dancing overseas, Danny also plans a heavy international push for the new mixtape through message boards, Youtube Channels, and fellow DJs and dancers. Love For The House Dancer Volume 1 features amazing new and classic tracks by giants Joey Negro, Grant Nelson, Kerri Chandler, Jerome Sydenham, and Kenny Dope; an eclectic blend of deep, soulful, and funky House styles; and enough surprises to keep any House Dancer--or casual House Music listener--grooving and smiling for an hour.
Although physical copies of the new mixtape will be printed for the tour, it is also available as an iTunes-ready MP3 download (complete with cover art) below. If you enjoy the mixtape, be sure to leave feedback via Facebook at http://facebook.com/DannyDance.
