Bring "The House Music In Schools Program" To Your School

The House Music In Schools Program is a new initiative to introduce school-age children, young teens, and college students to the fun, uplifting, and positive music and dance culture called House.  The program is available to middle/junior high schools, high schools, and colleges/universities.  From hands-on student workshops on House Dancing to in-depth guest lectures on House Music, the program gives students a direct, interactive window to House culture.  Schools may also request House Dance classes as part of in-school or afterschool programs.  To request a workshop at your school, use the contact form at http://danceisafeeling.com/contact.

Urban Studios (Trolley Square) Is Home To Utah's First House Dance Classes

Danny Dance (DJ, Producer, House Dancer) teaches the first House Dance Classes in Salt Lake City history.  Classes are held Tuesdays at 6:30 pn and 7:30 pm at Urban Studios (Trolley Square) for $10.  Topics include the mechanics and aesthetics of the dance, with emphasis on the many styles of the music and the importance of improvisation.  The class is fun, fast, zippy, and leaves you feeling fit.  Each class covers different movements and substyles of House Dancing while reinforcing fundaments, so students are encouraged to attend multiple classes.  Visit http://danceisafeeling.com/housedance/classes for more info.  Your nightclub dancing will never be the same!

SLC's Only Merengue Dance Night Coming Soon

Most people don't know that Danny Dance is Dominican.  Born in New York City and a native Spanish speaker, Danny grew up listening to the infectious, festive rhythms of his family's homeland's national music--Merengue.  An internationally popular style of Latin dancing, but often overshadowed by its older sister "Salsa", its younger brother "Bachata", and its distant relative "Reggaeton"--Merengue is the fastest, most upbeat of the Caribbean dance music styles.  During college, before becoming a House DJ, Danny Dance could be seen and heard affectionately playing the Latin percussion instrument "the Guira", one of the hallmark instruments of Merengue bands, alongside his extensive Merengue music collection.  Now Danny wants to bring Merengue dance music to Salt Lake City in a big way.  Stay tuned for more information; launch date is expected to be in February.
