Soundcloud resident cool cat DJ AGENTDOWN3EAT (pronounced ‘Agent Downbeat’) just brought this mix to my attention. It’s chock full of the kind of feelgood, French Disco filter House Music that has resonated with me since my days in college. The second track especially tugged at my heartstrings: Deep Down Inside (Not Quite Disco Remix). Such good music. I have to say, there are few better reasons to love a Friday than to find out a DJ like UK-bred, Spain-based Andy Ward has dropped your track in his mix and given you a great shout-out—which is what happened today in Andy’s latest Vocal Booth Radio DJ mix. Starting at about 39:40 in the mix, Andy plays my latest SDHC tune, Run Away With Me, and then gives his listeners a really nice lowdown on my House Dancing, production work, and SDHC House Music series (which he correctly deduced stands for ‘Spades, Diamonds, Hearts, and Clubs‘). At a time when so much of our music is being exported into and packaged as some sort of sex/drugs/fashion lifestyle, it’s nice to hear top, globally renowned DJs like him show love to the dance/music/love-driven nature of House Music.
